· Conventional water heaters where water is stored in a tank and heated by electric or gas energy. · Tankless water heaters that are comprised of coils that instantly heat up, but only when hot water is needed, eliminating the need for a tank.

· Hybrid water heaters that combine a heat pump with conventional tank storage using existing water and electrical connections.
